First time installation on a Standalone Computer

System requirements:

  • Pentium 4 - 2.0 Ghz and 512 MB RAM or above.
  • Microsoft English Windows 2000 / XP / 2003 / 7 Operating System.
  • Hard disk space about 40~100 MB¡C
  • Screen resolution 1024X768.
  • Any printer model.

Installation Procedures:

 
First time installation on a Networked Computer System

System requirements:

  • Networked computer system already setup.
  • Network Server has English Windows 2000 Server / 2003 Server OS.
  • Workstations are all installed with English Windows 2000 / XP with screen resolution at 1024X768.

Installation Procedures:

  • Download the PFRS setup file:  pfrs_setup_eng.exe   
     (    v2010.9.7) (File size 14.40 MB) ¡C
  • After downloading, at the Network Server execute pfrs_setup_eng.exe and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
  • After installation at the server,  share the folder C:\PFAS\PFRS_ENG with everyone READ/WRITE access with COMPLETE CONTROL.
  • Download English Visual Foxpro OCX Runtime (SP4) EVFP6_OCX.EXE (File size 15.91 MB) ¡C
    (Important note: If your workstations have Chinese Windows XP installed, do not install eVFP6_OCX.exe, install cVFP6_OCX.exe - the Chinese Foxpro OCX-Runtime Library instead).
  • After downloading, at each Workstation execute evfp6_ocx.exe by following the instructions on the screen.
  • After installation, at each workstation, map a network drive to the server's PFRS shared folder and create a shortcut to pfrs.exe at the workstation's desktop.
  • Run this shortcut to start the PFRS program at the workstation.

Update Only Procedure:
  • At the Standalone Computer or the Network Server, start the Old PFRS program, back up all old data to an external file using the "Backup and Zip Data" function.
  • Uninstall PFRS system at the Standalone Computer or the Network Server using "Add/Remove Programs" in Windows Control panel.
  • Download and install  pfrs_setup_eng.exe (Size  14.40 MB) again at the Standalone Computer or the Network Server.
  • After installation at the Standalone Computer or the Network Server, recover all the old data using the "Restore Zip Data" function using the new program.
